Her Island Destiny's New Look

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to stop in and let you know that "Her Island Destiny" is in to my editor and will be released this Summer!!! (Doing a happy dance!)

Her Island Destiny
Book 3 in the
Warriors of Destiny Series

In the days of Wallace and Bruce, two worlds and centuries collide on the breathtaking Isles of Orkney and Skye.

Cian MacKyleakin, known as the dreaded Wolf of Moal has dedicated his life to fighting for Scotland, but when his lineage is challenged, adding fuel to the rumors that are circulating through the English court, Edward Longshanks declares that the only way he can retain his lands is to marry the only daughter of the MacKinnons.  But when she’s found dead, things get complicated very quickly.

Isla MacKinnon, call sign Valkyrie, is a CH-47 Helicopter pilot for the United States Army.  Isla's helicopter is attacked and crashes in the Afghan mountains.  As the only survivor, she is ordered by her doctor and her command to take R&R to recover. Instead, she finds herself fighting for her life when a simple picnic on the beach turns perilous.

Can these two fallen warriors find the passion they need within each other’s embrace when they are from two different worlds and centuries?

Finally, It's Autumn!

Good morning, dear friends and readers!
I'm sitting on my front porch watching the sun rise with my two corgis lying by my feet as they scan the horizon for any foe or other humans to persuade to play with them.

I’m sipping on a hot apple cider and thanking the Almighty that the autumn weather has finally made her grand appearance.  56 degrees F and the warmest it will get today is 72.  The perfect autumn weather!

As I’ve said before, this is by far my favorite time of year!  This time of year is seductive and alluring.  How lovely it would be to have my lover cuddled with me underneath this quilt as we watch the sunrise together as we had once enjoyed during past autumns.  Soft kisses would be shared as we’d remember the night before in front of the bonfire as we'd listen to the crack and sizzle of the wood pop underneath the glowing embers and the amber flames entwined in a magical sacred dance.  There is nothing like making love in the open crisp air of autumn as the same breeze that carries the fallen leaves caress our naked flesh.

Oh, how I love this time of year!

Haunts and kisses!

HAUNTED LEGACY Gets a Wonderful Review

This just in from the beautiful Delilah Marvelle! What a glorious way to end my stressful week! Thank you so much Delilah!!!
A review of HAUNTED LEGACY, the story of Lust from the Seven Sins Print novel, published by DCL Publications.
"From the moment HAUNTED LEGACY begins I was thrust into a time of grit, yearning, passion and mystery that seized me and didn't want to let me go. It was like a ghost story of old made new with a sweeping romance that made every single word worthwhile. From the moment Sheena and Lachlan's eyes meet, the heat begins to rise and I melted seeing their wounded hearts beat for each other against all odds and the tragic history that haunted them both. Sheena and Lachlan were absolutely delicious. My only complaint is that the story had to end..." - Delilah Marvelle, author of Mistress of Pleasure and Lord of Pleasure www.DelilahMarvelle.com

Seasons Change

August is quickly coming to a close and soon we'll be within the arms of the Autumn season.
I love all seasons for their own unique reasons, but I have a fondness for Autumn.  Yes, my birthday is in October, but that isn't why.
I love the way the Autumn air feels and smells.
I love the smell of cider brewing, permeating the aroma of apple and cinnamon.
I love the crispness of the morning as I sit on the front porch wrapped in a quilt watching the sun rise.
I love the rich colors of the leaves on the trees.
I love the colors of the mums and pumpkins in the fields of the farms as I drive by them while on the road.  And I love the coziness of the way lovers snuggle under the blankets with each other as they go on hayrides in the country, listening to various ghost stories and tales of the macabre.
What do you love about Autumn, dear friends?
Haunts and kisses;
Annie

Unrequited Love

Good Monday morning my dear readers!

Today's topic...Unrequited Love.

Do you have anyone in your life that you love, but are too scared to tell them? Did you ever pass up the love of your life for another? Did you ever have a relationship that you wish was more?

Here are a couple of poems that I've written throughout the years about this very subject. I hope you enjoy.

Haunts and kisses;
Annie

---------------------------------

Forever Your Courtesan

Am I to forever be your courtesan
To live forever in the shadows
To only be seen when it is convenient
Never to show our affection and love among others?

Am I to forever remain silent to the fact that you are the love of my life
Knowing that I am not your only desire
That there are others at your discarding
And be one of many that share your fondness?

Am I to forever endure this torture of never being called your love
Never to hear that endearment upon your lips
To know that love isn’t within your intentions
And that I am to forever be your courtesan?

-----------------------------------------------------

For One More Moment

For one more moment in your presence
To gaze into your eyes again as you fasten them upon me

My heart weeps knowing that you belong to another.

For one more moment to feel your soft caress upon my skin
Such an exquisite sensation to be shaped as a sculptor creates a masterpiece
How it pains me to know that there were so many.

For one more moment to feel your lips upon mine
To taste the sweet nectar that flows from your mouth as we embrace
My heart shatters with the knowledge that you had forgotten me.
For one more moment I pray the Almighty brings swift healing of a heart torn asunder.

Her Highland Destiny Receives 5 Tombstones!

My debut book, Her Highland Destiny received 5 Tombstones from Bitten By Books!!!

"...This has to be one the most heartwarming stories I have read in a while. Annie Marshall knows what goes into a great book. Kenna is battle ready all of the time, but how do you fight an attraction to man that should have been dead in the ground for centuries? Iain is such a man! He is tough and opposing when he is among his men but in the bedroom alone with Kenna, he pampers her and loves her. Where do I buy my ticket to 1296 Scotland!?" ~ Megan ~

To read the whole review, you can go to the Bitten By Books site!

Have an awesome day my dear readers!!!

An Extraordianary Read!

Trevelyan (Sinclair) Mershan is a man on a mission. His mission…revenge. Along with his brothers, Trevelyan is dead set on bringing down the Montgomerie family by seducing then destroying the “meddling Montgomerie” sisters. He has his sights zeroed in on Raven Montgomerie, the beautiful, quiet, and most vulnerable of the sisters.

Raven Montgomerie prefers the quiet life of painting and socializing with gypsies in the English countryside. While she could live in luxury, she chose to live in the estate cottage rather than in the main house of Colford Hall. However she doesn’t live alone. She shares the beautiful country cottage with an odd menagerie of pets; two cats named Chester and Pyewacket, a one-legged seagull named Atticus, and a lively miniature pony named Marvin. (I love these names!)

What Raven needs is a knight in shining armor. Little does this timid woman know, her knight will be riding into her life in a shining Lamborghini MurciƩlago. Then when Raven and Trevelyan first meet, sparks ignite a fire and the instant he touches her, their fates are sealed.

In this third installment of the Sisters of Colford Hall series, I found myself completely absorbed in the story of Raven and Trevelyan! I have read the other two in the series and even though I completely enjoyed them, I have to say A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing is by far my favorite! A magical love story that even includes a ghost named Annie. (Great name!)

Ms. MacGillivray has a talent for creating stories that clutch the hearts of her readers and in A Wolf in Wolf’s Clothing, you won’t be disappointed. She has woven a tale of passion, love, and desire that grips you from the first page to the very end.

Call Sign Contest Winner!!!

There were soooooo many great entries into my Call Sign Contest that it was hard deciding which one to go with!!! And after taking a look at my storyline for Her Island Destiny, I've finally chosen which call sign I'll be using for my heroine!!!

Dear readers, I'd like to present to you Isla MacKinnon, call sign Valkyrie!
Thank you Debra Maples for coming up with the name!!!

Ok folks, here is why I went with Valkyrie...

Her Island Destiny takes us away from the Highlands of Scotland and we dive into the world of the Orkney Islands, a group of islands lying off the northern tip of Scotland, where the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet. Now for those who don't know, from the stone age Orcadians left a legacy of monuments through to the Vikings, who took the islands in the ninth century and made them the center of a powerful earldom and part of the kingdom of Norway.

Well...Cian James, our hero, is fighting to keep his castle Moal and the lands surrounding it on the Isle of Skye which is on the west coast of Scotland. It's rumored that he is not of full Scottish blood because his ancestors come from the Orkney Islands. And because of this rumor, he must prove he is worthy of his lands or he'll be forced to surrender them to Fergus MacAlpin, a favorite in King Edward’s court who has decided he wants Moal for himself.

And after looking up the name Valkyrie (yes I had to look it up! LOL), I found out that it means "chooser of the slain", derived from Old Norse valr "the slain" and kyrja "chooser". In Norse myth the Valkyries were maidens who led heroes killed in battle to Valhalla. ( http://www.behindthename.com/ )
So going with the call sign Valkyrie was the best choice!
Once again, I want to thank everyone for their entries!!! You all are amazing!!!

Her Noble Destiny Receives a 5 Cup Rating!

Her Noble Destiny recieves a 5 Cup Rating at Coffeetime Romance!!!

Aiden MacAlister, the peacemaker of the family, is heartbroken after his brother dies in battle. He has the task of caring for his brother’s land. On the way to Dunstaffnage Castle, he comes upon an injured woman who desperately needs help.

Jaedin Greer, a United States Army captain and nurse, is working in Iraq with the military police unit, who are short on medics. It is during an explosion she soon finds herself in the 1300’s, in a place somewhat familiar.

Aiden is on the way to Dunstaffnage Castle when he happens upon a woman needing assistance. Jaedin hears hoof beats and prays it is help. When Aiden takes her to his home, Jaedin learns the accident has taken her eyesight, but Aiden is very attentive to her needs. As they slowly learn about the other, Jaedin is certain she has been to the area in her time when she was smaller and things were in ruins. She even recalls stories her Gram would tell her about the MacAlister men. Can the two stay together throughout any time, or will Jaedin be transported back to the present, leaving behind the man who has captured her heart?

I must say Her Noble Destiny is a sweeping tale that transports the reader into a majestic time period. I fell in love with the descriptions of the era, the castle, not to mention Jaedin and Aiden. Jaedin is remarkable the way she loses her eyesight yet uses other senses, and measures, to grasp everything around her. The passion, and love, shared between Jaedin, and Aiden, spins a love affair that surpasses through time. Annie Marshall pens an exciting tale sweeping this reader into a lovely land, with vivid characters that captivate, and take the breath away, in this rare story of love.

Phase One of Research

Good evening, my dear readers!

I spent today working on phase one of researching the job my heroine does in the next installment of the Destiny series. In Her Island Destiny, Isla MacKinnon is a CH-47 Chinook helicopter pilot. And this, my dear readers is the magnificent bird that Isla flies.

I know it's not as sleek as some of the other helicopters in the military, but I have a love for this bird that you know is coming because of its distinct 'whomp... whomp...whomp' sound of the two large rotors that in delicate balance avoid each other.

Enjoy everyone!

First Review In For Her Noble Destiny!

HER NOBLE DESTINY

Author: Annie Marshall

Jaedin is a medic in the Army and is on an emergency to aid those in need when her team is suddenly attacked by the enemy and things start blowing up. When she wakes up from that, she begins to search for survivors and finds one of her friends. Pulling him to safety was the last thing she was able to do before being swept into very strong winds and knocked unconscious. She awakens to find herself in 1300 Scotland. Blind, naked and in desperate need of help.

Aiden finds Jaedin on his way to his brother's keep and quickly bundles her up and takes her with him.

Their journey together is interesting while they try to figure each other out. Of course, they may not be able to fully understand each other before Jaedin is suddenly swept into another storm and taken from Aiden...

I don't want to give the ending away, but I did like what I read. It's a short read, and really needs to be lengthened for a bit more detail, and needs a small amount of editing done for misspelled words, commas, quotation marks... ect.
